Does Anyone Still Take Robertson Seriously?

Why does anyone still take Robertson seriously? And for that matter why in the world is the "600 Club" still allowed on tv? I really think that the only reason it's still on tv is to embarrass Christians. Robertson is the perfect example of a thelogian of glory. I can't help but wonder how many people's faith have been damaged by this yahoo. How many people have been led astray thinking God is punishing them for not living the perfect life according it the law? How many people are led to dispair thinking that if they just did a little better God would just give them their better life now? If he can't declare the Gospel purely, he should just shut up.

(CNN) -- Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed.
"He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,'" Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, "The 700 Club."
"God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,'" he said.
Robertson's show airs on the ABC Family cable network and claims about 1 million viewers daily.

Jonathan David Morris has an interesting article about this idiocy on the part of Robertson, in which he says "I have several problems with Robertson’s analysis, but first and foremost among them is that he’d attempt to tie Sharon’s failing health to his personal views on foreign policy.

Robertson is an Enthusiast. What more needs to be said? When he and those of his ilk make comments on political items, it's time to "search the Scriptures". In reading such news items, it's best
to "consider the source," no?!

You are a moron! Pat Robertson's show is the 700 Club. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!

In related news, insiders say that Satan is "feeling marginalized" by Robertson's continued insistence that God is behind most worldly catastrophes.

"He's having a bit of an identity crisis," explained one of his minions, who insisted on remaining anonymous despite the fact that the Head Imp is all-knowing. "If Robertson keeps giving God credit for all the evil stuff, where does that leave us? Satan hasn't felt this irrelevant since Christ held out for 40 days in the desert. It's just not happy times for the dark side."

Satan was made irrelevant and impotent by Christ's life, death and resurrection. Any sorrow and death and other tribulations he may cause are, for the Christian, only temporary. Heaven is our home!
