one of these things just doesn’t belong.
Can you tell which thing is not like the other
by the time I finish my song?
Let's try a new game shall we? One of the pictures in this post is not like the others. The question is which one, and why. Good luck!
same as before, pic 1.
ReplyDeleteThis is too easy! Clearly #1 is not like the others. Picture #1 is of church! How do we know this? First of all, there are screens. You can't really flop your paws all around if you are stuck holding a hymnal. Every good church should have a minimum of three and they should be placed strategically around the room so you can spin around without missing the words. Secondly, look at the lighting. Stage lights, special effects, and pyrotechnics are a must for Sunday mornings. Third, I do see some hands in the air! And I bet others are clapping. My only question is, 'where is the guitar and drums?' Finally, just look at all the people! I think we should count them, or at least have them register on a website. Yes, number 1 is definitely a church.
ReplyDelete...I don't know what pictures 2, 3, and 4 are ...maybe concerts or sporting events???
I thought worship was to be about "spirit and truth" why are you focusing on how it looks!!! Please remember the Bible only has Prayer, sacrament, word, and singing listed as requirements for worship! God, Jesus, Moses, not even David handed down the "Divine Service". Do you really think God is heaven shutting his ears tot the praises offered up at the NYG? Seems your religion is based solely on what you DO and not grace!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, could you explain what you mean by "spirit and truth"?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, if that's your real name, there are actually portions of the Divine Service that come out of Genesis, but that is neither here nor there. My point is that the Divine Service is meant to be SET APART. It is unfortunate so many Evangelicals in this country feel the need to water down the Divine Service and the Word. And for what? To get more people in the door? To build a mega-church? To make it seem like something other than what it is? There is plenty of that, it's called "the world".
ReplyDeleteI am merely commenting on the disturbing trend that I am seeing across the entire catholic faith. As formality has decreased, so has respect for God. Next we'll see so called "Christians" allowing men to marry men....oh, this is already happening? Where and when will you draw the line? When it's too late?
Tell me, does your church have a place to check your flip-flops once you enter?
"spirit and truth"? Wow, I like to go to Church where Christ and His gifts are the focus.
ReplyDeleteYou actually fell prey to a trick question with your comment on this post. If you commented on the last one you would have a leg to stand on, but not with this series of pictures. I'll show you where you are wrong in accusing me of looking for something to "do" in my next post.
If you don't mind me asking, what is your religious affiliation or denomination? The reason I’m curious is the way you worded something that sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on why.
And as Melanie stated, God did give the OT faithful a Divine service.
